Pet Groomer (Contractor)

Have you ever wanted to start your own business as a Pet Groomer? Make your own hours? Don't want the overhead of paying rent? This is a great opportunity for an experienced Groomer to bring the existing clients they have to take over the existing grooming space at Peak Veterinary Hospital ("PVH"). We have a handful of existing clients who come to Peak already for grooming, the space is already set up with the equipment needed and we have an existing client base of pet owners on the Veterinary side. PVH has a strong reputation for quality medical care and service, which can be seen through our 5 star rating on Google. As a Contractor/Locum, Pet Groomer you'll have the opportunity to make a lucrative income and the ability to run a pet grooming business as a contractor/locum at PVH. You'll receive 50% of the total pet grooming revenue that you bring in with no overhead costs like rent. As you'll be a Contractor/Locum, no hours are guaranteed, you have the flexibility to make your own hours and you'll have control to grow this part of the business. We also have an exceptional Marketing team that you can work with to make your dreams a reality.

What does the role look like?

Booking in appointments for pet owners (accurately recording the clients reason for the visit, scheduling the correct service and adequate time for appointments)

• Greeting clients when they check their pets in and confirming the details of the appointment
• Confiriming the service(s) they came in for, going through recommendations for other services, confirming the contact details and pick up time
• Working on a range of pets for:
  • Baths
  • Brushing
  • Nail trims
  • Haircuts
  • Skin and coat treatments
  • Fresh breath treatments
  • Post service photos of the clients pet for social media purposes
• Contacting clients when the service is complete
• Confirming the services that were performed for the visit are on the invoice for Reception to charge the client
• Maintaining and sanitizing the salon equipment/stations 
• Keeping the pet wash stations clean
• Sanitizing the scissors, brushes and haircut stations
• Keeping the floor dry to prevent people from falling/injuries

What are we looking for?

• You are a certified Pet Groomer
• At least 3 years of experience or more as a Pet Groomer
• You are comfortable with basic grooms to more complex grooms
• Exceptional communication skills to work with a range of clients
• Client focused, you prioritize client satisfaction and you are a relationship builder
